Recently, the Second Council of the British Northwestern Chinese Association was inaugurated in Manchester.

The ceremony opened in a solemn and lively atmosphere. The lively crowd of guests, the atmosphere and the warmth of the scene, was a full demonstration of the spirit of the Chinese community in the north-west of the United Kingdom, which was united in solidarity and positive upwards.

During the message, the President of the Northwestern Chinese Association of England, Lee Qui-tai, and the Director of the Association, Seo Jie-tung, expressed the Association ' s sincere gratitude to all those who had long been interested in and supportive of the development of the Association. They said that since its inception, the Association had been working consistently to serve the Chinese community, to promote exchanges between the Chinese and the British, and had played an active role in promoting cultural diffusion, to strengthen community cooperation and to engage in the public good.

The Association will continue to work with the original intent to further build the capacity of the diaspora, strengthen communication and cooperation with all sectors of local society, continue to promote the dissemination of Chinese culture and communication with the Chinese and British peoples, and work towards a more influential Chinese community platform.

Many of the guests gave a high degree of appreciation and high expectations for the Association’s past work. It was agreed that, as the British Chinese community grew, the Chinese community was playing an increasingly important role in promoting social cohesion and cultural exchange.

At the same time, the scene was well organized, with a rich cultural atmosphere added to the ceremony. The variety of the programmes, which covered music and dance, instrumental music, and so forth, presented both the unique charms of Chinese culture and the diversity of Chinese communities and their positive spirituality.

This inauguration not only marks a smooth transition in the development of the association’s organization, but also represents a continuation of its responsibilities and mission. At a new start, the British Association of Northwestern Chinese will continue to act as a bridge link and contribute to the development of Chinese communities and friendly exchanges between the Chinese and the British.
